Inequalities in a health cycle: An exploration of socioeconomic inequalities in risk factors, behaviors, biomarkers, disease incidence, and death

We explore what role socioeconomic factors such as education and income play for different perspectives of health. People with low socioeconomic position are often more likely to fall ill, but that is not always the case and it depends on the health outcome studied. We want to explore inequalities in all stages of a health cycle including (A) exposure to risk factors and health behaviors, (B) biomarkers and measurements such as blood pressure and BMI, (C) disease occurrence and (D) death. We believe our research provides insights useful for policy makers and health professionals seeking to reduce inequality in health.
